Vanessa is a Filipino Canadian living in a small but growing community of Sault St. Marie, she is also the founder of the Soo Filipino Club that helps international students. She came to Canada as a caregiver, continues working as a personal support worker up to now. However, her passion for helping people is her drive to go back to school - pursue her dream to become a social worker. In the video, we have tackled the struggles she has faced as a new immigrant, balancing work and kids, also what are the current issues in her community that they are facing.
